Extra Curricular Activities

We offer a range of extra curricular activities. Many clubs are offered throughout the year before or after school. The sports coach offers active sessions to a different year group each evening, the theme for the club is voted for by the children each half term.

Hull FC lead a club and other clubs are available for example; Cookery club, Phonics, Library Club, Scooter, Construction and Choir are just a few of the clubs which are lead by teachers each term. Clubs tend to run in six week blocks and children are invited to sign up for these using the google forms which are sent via text each half term.

Wider Opportunities during curriculum time.

Children in Years 5 and 6 can take part in residential visits to Carlton Lodge and Raywell, these are always very exciting opportunities. Other learning opportunities are planned throughout the school to enhance learning experiences (trips to the ballet, theatre, museums, historic houses, places of worships, sporting events, farms, concerts). Sometimes a small contribution is asked for, payment plans are available to support with costs. The school always pays the larger percentage of costs. Recently, it is the cost of transport that we need help with. Luckily we are within walking distance of the City centre for the older children which helps enormously.

In Year 3 children learn to play the glockenspiel, Year 4 learn the P Buzzers and in Year 5 children learn a brass instrument. Musical Drama is supported by Chris Holmes and Hull FC supports the teaching of rugby skills. The whole school curriculum is enriched at every opportunity to ensure the children have a depth and breadth of educational experiences to support their whole development.
